Coach firm Solent Coaches has found the Bournemouth climate conducive to growth, with a move to the area helping to accelerate its ambitions for the future.
The company moved to the area earlier this year, following significant investment in the wake of its acquisition by Lucketts Group. Since then, the company has hit the accelerator on its growth plans, increasing its number of drivers by more than a third and more than doubling its coach hire work in the last year.
A number of improvements have been made to the companys fleet too, helping the company prepare for future uplift in demand for its services. Among the new additions are several school coaches and an Irizar i6 touring coach, which will allow Solent Coaches to take on even more corporate and tour work. In total, the fleet has increased by more than 40%.
Mark Pitter, commercial and operations manager at Solent Coaches, said: "The acquisition by Lucketts Group really has unlocked the growth potential for Solent Coaches. Investment and operational improvements have helped us to pick up new work and were seeing a significant rise in the amount of coach hire work were winning locally."
Managing director Tony Lawman said: "We saw huge potential in Solent Coaches ahead of the acquisition and weve been proven right. The company is upping the game for quality coach travel in the Bournemouth area and its popularity is evidenced by the impressive rise in coach hire work."
Solent Coaches was acquired by Lucketts Group in 2017. Lucketts Group itself has a fleet of 160 vehicles, operating under its Solent Coaches, Lucketts Travel, Coliseum Coaches, Worthing Coaches and Mortons Travel brands.
